Thinking About Custom Tin Tackers? Here's What You Need to Know Before You Order
Whether you sling beers, roast beans, roll joints, rock stages, rep your city, or run a killer service biz—we’re stoked you found us. At TinTackers.com, we help brands like yours turn logos into badass metal signs that people don’t just hang—they collect.
If you’ve been thinking, “Hmm… should we make a tacker?” the answer is probably yes. And if you're not sure where to start, don’t sweat it—we’ve got you. This post breaks down the most common questions we get from first-timers, plus some solid ideas on what to actually do with your tackers once you’ve got ’em.
Wait—What’s a Tin Tacker, Anyway?
Glad you asked. A tin tacker is a lightweight, embossed aluminum sign that shows off your logo or artwork in a way that actually gets noticed. You’ve seen them in taprooms, behind bars, in coffee shops, on garage walls, and all over man caves—they’re fun, bold, and super collectible. Basically, it’s the kind of sign people want to steal off the wall (but please don’t).
So, Who Are Custom Tackers For?
Honestly? Anyone with a cool logo and a strong vibe. Tin tackers may have gotten their start in the beer world, but these days, they’ve gone way beyond breweries.
We’ve made custom tackers for distilleries, cideries and wineries, cannabis brands with serious personality, coffee roasters who know their beans and their branding, and bands that want something way cooler than another black tee at the merch table. We've worked with food brands, home service companies, tourism boards, ale trails, cigar lounges, car clubs, homebrew guilds, and even sports teams—basically anyone who wants to make their brand pop.
If you’ve got a brand people care about—you’re tacker material.
FAQs: Let’s Break It Down
What’s the Minimum Order?
Our MOQ (minimum order quantity) is just 25 pieces. So even if you’re a small biz or testing the waters with your first design, or looking for proof of concept, you don’t have to go big to get started.
What is the Sweet Spot?
The sweet spot is usually around 100 units. That’s when pricing starts to really work in your favor thanks to production efficiencies. But we’ll walk you through options no matter what your quantity is.
Can I Make a Custom Shape?
Absolutely. If you want to do something totally custom—like your mascot’s face, your product’s silhouette, or a guitar shape—we can make it happen. We’ll work with you on sizing and making sure it looks awesome.
What About the Artwork?
We ask that you come to us with print-ready artwork—specifically in vector format. We prefer .eps or .ai files, and if your design includes spot colors, please provide the Pantone (PMS) numbers so we can match them as closely as possible.
You don’t need to size it perfectly or include a bleed—we’ll handle all the setup.
Once your artwork is submitted, you’ll receive a digital proof that includes areas of emboss, exact finish size, thickness and mounting hole placement.
You’ll be able to review everything and request edits before giving the final thumbs up. If you want to go the extra mile, we also offer an optional flat press proof—a physical sample printed on flat metal—for an additional cost.
How Long Does It Take?
From final approval to completion, most orders take about 5 weeks. If you’ve got a deadline—like a big event, grand opening, or product launch—we can do a rush order for an additional cost.
What Are the Payment Terms?
To get your custom tacker order rolling, we require a 50% deposit up front. The remaining balance is due once your tackers are completed and ready to ship. We keep it simple—you can pay by credit card, PayPal, Venmo, or check. Whatever works best for you.
What Can You Actually Do With Custom Tackers?
So glad you asked—because once you have them, the possibilities are kind of endless. Some of our customers sell them as merch (trust us, collectors go wild). Others hand them out at festivals, 420 events, grand openings, beer releases, or trade shows. They're killer for dressing up a taproom, retail space, or even your office—instant vibe upgrade.
You can toss them in swag bags, mailers, influencer kits, or use them to reward your most loyal fans and customers. Staff love them, too—they’re the kind of thing that ends up proudly displayed in a garage, home bar, or breakroom wall. We’ve even seen brands use limited-run tackers for fundraisers and collabs—and let’s just say, hype levels were high.
Final Thoughts
Look, we know custom tackers might feel a little intimidating the first time around—but it’s actually super easy (and kind of fun, too). Whether you’re making a small batch for a special event or planning your next big merch drop, we’ve got your back. You bring the logo, we’ll bring the metal magic—and together we’ll make something you’ll be proud to slap your name on.
